Fine Gael town council candidate Okey Williams Kalu has welcomed the introduction of changes at Castlebar post office — the provision of fast track services for the elderly and the introduction of a postage stamp vending machine.
Mr Kalu said: “I called for these changes in February and it is an excellent step forward now that they have been implemented. I commend An Post for doing this and would like to see similar approaches being taken on a much wider scale throughout other post offices”.
Mr Kalu concluded by saying that he hoped: “The people of Castlebar and particularly the elderly would no longer have to queue for long periods and that this should also improve the efficiency of other services as people would no longer have to waste time in queuing.”
