Local Link Mayo launch new strategy plan

Local Link Mayo have officially launched recently 'A Connected Mayo' their TFL Local Link Mayo Strategy.

Launching the strategy was businessman and entrepreneur (fonder of Aer Aran Express and Aer Lingus regional ) Padraig O Ceidgh. Speaking at the event he said: "Good public transport offers so many benefits to rural communities and is a key contributor to their economic and social wellbeing.

"As I am from Connemara, I understand just how important it is to offer social connectivity, access to jobs, education and services in rural areas of County Mayo. Rural transport allows rural communities to develop and flourish and is a key contributor to the Governments climate action agenda".

A Local Link Mayo passenger and long-time disability rights advocate Ann Marie Healy also spoke at the launch event saying: "Access to transport is essential for people with disabilities, being able to get out and about is a vital way to stay part of the local community, and having access to local amenities can make a real difference to a person living in an isolated rural area. I myself live in Glenamoy in North Mayo and depend on services like Local Link Mayo and my PA services from Rehab Care and IWA to get out and about".

TFI Local Link Mayo strategy is the result of an extensive strategic planning process and is available to download on the company website www.locallinkmayo.ie or on request by email [email protected] or calling 094 9005150. The strategy sets out key priorities for development of rural transport in Mayo from 2021 to 2025.
