School teacher will represent Mayo at Rose of Tralee regional final

The Mayo Rose 2009 has been selected and is national school teacher Natasha Murphy from Castlebar.

Natasha won the title at the selection night in the TF Royal Hotel and Theatre last Saturday. Sponsored by Little Madam Cheeky Chaps, Castlebar, Natasha received great support from the audience, delighting sponsors, family, and friends.

Natasha received €1,000 from the Mayo Rose committee and jewellery by Newbridge Silverware, a bouquet of roses sponsored by Castlebar Florists, a hair and beauty makeover valued €250 sponsored by Petal’s of Westport, an Elvery Sports gift voucher, and a beauty hamper sponsored by Staunton’s Pharmacy. Natasha can now look forward to the Irish regional final in Portlaoise from May 29 to 31 where she will represent Mayo.

Compered by Dermott Langan, a total of 10 Roses took part in the selection night, with an on-stage interview. Last year’s Mayo Rose, Lorraine Cronin from Crossmolina, congratulated Natasha and gave a wonderful insight into the festival and her amazing year.
