A meeting last week between Bord Gáis, GMC Civil and Mechanical Engineering Ltd and local community and business representative in Ballinrobe, outlined details of the €4m construction project to bring natural gas to the town, with its arrival scheduled for autumn.
Advance works on Neale Road have commenced, while construction of the 16km feeder main and 5km distribution network commence this week. Speaking about the planned works Fiona Lally, Gaswest project manager, Bord Gáis Networks said: “We are actively communicating with the community to keep them informed about traffic restrictions and Bord Gáis Networks will make every effort to keep any disruption to a minimum. All excavations will be backfilled and all surfaces will be restored.”
