Mayo’s Electric Skyline expands to Munster with the creation of 30 jobs

Mayo company Electric Skyline is expanding their business in Munster. This is in response to securing the Cork City Council Public Lighting Maintenance Contract. Electric Skyline will add an additional 25,000 public lights in Cork City to its current portfolio of 80,000 with other Local Authority clients throughout Ireland.

Cork City Council has ambitious plans to greatly reduce their energy consumption through the upgrade of public lighting to LED. Along with the upgrade works, major infrastructure improvements are planned with the upgrade of columns, cables and connections.

In addition to the repairs and upgrades to LED and as part of the contract, Electric Skyline will provide night-time patrols of each public light in Cork City every 10 working days, this will be carried out by their EV Patrol Vehicle.

Electric Skyline expects to create 30 jobs over the next 24 months to support the company’s expansion into Munster, they will be recruiting management, electrical, general operative, warehouse, administration and health and safety.

They have recently opened a Munster Regional Office in Glanmire to stamp their commitment in the region. In addition to the Cork City contract, it also opens other opportunities for additional projects that are in line with the company portfolio in the Munster region.

Commercial Director, Bryan Fox, said: "We are thrilled to have secured the Public Lighting Maintenance contract with Cork City and we plan to provide Cork City Council and its citizens with the same excellent level of service that we have provided to our other Local Authority clients over the last 14 years."
