Mayo based payroll technology company to create 150 new jobs

Mayo based company Payslip, an automation and integration technology platform for global payroll management, has announced the successful closure of a €8.3 million financing round, brining the companies total financing to €12 million.

The company is used by dozens of multinational organisations throughout various industries and customers include LogMeIn, Get Your Guide, Cloudera, and Airbus.

The proceeds from this funding enable the company to hire extensively in Ireland, especially in Westport and Dublin.

They will be recruiting software developers, integrations engineers, customer project managers, solution architects, tech support specialists, FinTech project managers and customer success managers, among many others, to drive the business forward and serve its growing international client base. 

Founder and CEO of Payslip, Fidelma McGuirk said: “The pandemic brought sweeping changes to payroll management models as many global payroll teams were working from home and had to support colleagues in other countries. Payslip was chosen by both high growth tech native companies, who seek smart technology to manage their mission critical business processes, as well as large enterprises who are going digital.

“We are creating a lot of new positions across engineering, customer success and project management. With Team Payslip based in Westport, they can have a great life by the mountains and sea, while delivering cutting edge technology to the best multinational clients in the world.”

The announcement was welcomed by Deputy Alan Dillon (FG ) who said: “ I wish Payslip Founder and Chief Executive, Fidelma McGuirk, every continued success in what will be an exciting phase of expansion, as well as commending both her and their management team for growing the company to the scale it has now achieved.

“The success of Payslip is a real home grown success story for Mayo and a real feather in the cap for the entrepreneurial culture and confidence in the county.  It is truly impressive to see Payslip based at Lesson Enterprise Park providing services to global corporations such as Airbus.  Enterprise Ireland first invested in Payslip in 2016 as part of its FinTech Competitive Start Fund.  

“Further enterprise support funding was provided through Enterprise Ireland’s High Potential Startup (HPSU ) programme and demonstrates the important work being done by Ireland’s enterprise support agencies in Mayo. 

“The switch to remote working and the need for global approach to payroll solutions will be a massive growth sector in the years ahead and it is amazing to see a Mayo-based company playing a major role on the global stage.”

His party colleague and Westport based TD Michael Ring also welcoemd the news saying: "I am very pleased to see this jobs boost by Payslip. They are looking to recruit extensively in Ireland particularly in Westport and Dublin. Payslip are offering an superb opportunity to secure excellent employment in the West of Ireland”.

It was also welcomed by Senator Lisa Chambers (FF ) who said: “It’s fantastic to see investment of €8.5m in a Mayo based company and good quality jobs for the county. The creation of 150 jobs is hugely significant. Mayo is an attractive place to do business and provides a great work life balance for employees.

“This level of investment and job creation will generate confidence in the county as a place to do business and we’d hope to see more companies follow suit.”
