Specsavers Ballina has expanded its team and welcomes a brand new local optometrist to help deliver expert eye care to the local community.
Speaking about her role, Hannah Reape said: "I am delighted to have joined the team at Specsavers Ballina. Having completed my studies at Technological University Dublin and graduated with a first class honours last year, I have thoroughly enjoyed returning to Ballina to serve my local community. I grew up in Knockmore and went to the local primary and secondary schools here too, so it feels great to be bringing my expertise back home with me."
The expert opticians is overseen by store directors, Kelley McGrath and John Paul Odigbo, who between them, have a combined 31 years of experience. Together with a qualified team of optometrists, audiologists and highly-trained staff, Specsavers Ballina provides customers with value for money and expertise in eye health and audiology.
Retail director, Kelley McGrath, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Hannah to the team here in Ballina to bolster our professional offering in Ballina and the wider community. Being a part of the local community is really important to us so to be able to create local jobs for local people is a real privilege."
Ophthalmic director, John Paul Odigbo, added: "This addition illustrates the consistent growth and commitment of the team at Specsavers Ballina, which is made possible by the loyalty and support of our customers. We look forward to our customers meeting Hannah in-store during the coming months.
"In addition to investing in expert staff, Specsavers Ballina invests in the best testing equipment and technology on the high street. Using the Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT ) machine, a cutting-edge piece of equipment, usually found in hospital eye departments, Specsavers provides the very best in optical care.
"An OCT scan can help detect treatable eye conditions such as diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration sooner. It can also help detect glaucoma up to four years in advance. This means conditions can be managed before they get worse and can help prevent potential sight loss. An OCT scan only takes a few seconds and allows your optician to look deeper into your eyes than ever before.
"At Specsavers, you can see and hear for free, through the PRSI scheme. Anyone who has been employed or self-employed in Ireland for two years, is entitled to a free eye test as well as a free pair of glasses or contribution to specs. Those with eligible contributions can also now avail of a pair of hearing aids up to the value of €1,000 or put their PRSI contribution towards the cost of a more expensive pair of hearing aids at Specsavers.
"At Specsavers Ballina, customers are always guaranteed expert eye care and hearing services, exceptional choice and outstanding value for money."
