Maternity restrictions ease at MUH

Mayo Fine Gael TD Alan Dillon has welcomed news that Covid-19 HSE maternity restrictions are to ease at Mayo University Hospital.

Deputy Dillon said: "I have listened to many concerned pregnant women and their partners in recent months who have been severely impacted by these restrictions. I have made numerous representations to the CEO of the HSE, Paul Reid, and Minister Donnelly, on this matter, and am delighted to see some easing of restrictions

"I was informed that visiting hours at the Mayo University Hospital maternity ward will resume for partners for one-hour daily visits from 6pm to 7pm. From May 3, partners will also be permitted to attend 20-week anatomy scans at MUH.

"I wish to acknowledge the Management and staff at MUH, for their professionalism, hard work, and dedication over the past number of months in challenging circumstances and am hopeful that normal services will resume over the coming months for all expecting mothers and partners."
