O'Shea picks up injury as Mayo get back training

Mayo got back on the training field earlier this week for the first time since before last year's All Ireland final, but their preparations for the upcoming National Football League and championship season has been dealt a blow, with reports emerging that captain, Aidan O'Shea, has picked up a knee injury during their first session back on the field.

The three-time All Star who captained Mayo to last year's Connacht Senior Football Championship win and the All Ireland final, will have been a key man in James Horan's plans for the season ahead and he will be hoping that the Breaffy man can return to full fitness as soon as possible.

Mayo are due to start their National Football League campaign in Division Two North on the weekend of May 15/16 at home to Down, they will follow that up with games against Meath and Westmeath with the championship starting in June as a straight knock-out competition, with an opening round clash against Sligo.
