This evening, Friday, May 26, at 7.30pm, Perspective wellbeing centre in Claremorris, Mayo, will be hosting a virtual launch of the Cuckoo Clock Exhibition via Zoom.
Established artists from all over Ireland have submitted their interpretation of mental health to the exhibition. There are many ways to well-being and this exhibition is an exciting new event for Perspective in 2021.
The exhibition’s theme 'Cuckoo Clock' draws inspiration from the concept of Cuckoo Clock Syndrome, wherein people become addicted to crisis and acting on command, missing the chance for collective leadership that could help reframe problems.
As a peer-led collective, Perspective and its peer support workers are devoted to promoting personal and social leadership to help people look after their mental and emotional wellbeing.
Elaine Browne, founder of Perspective, said: "This exhibition is an opportunity to further a healthy dialogue around mental health and the dynamic ways we can foster growth and overcome challenges."
The official exhibition launch will be a celebration of art and community and offers a chance for all to be part of the conversation. On the night, Zoom guests will have the chance to look around the virtual exhibition and meet the artists.
All works are available to purchase. There will be music provided by Mayo musician Train Room and the chance to find out more about Perspective and Peer Support. Anyone with an interest in art, mental health, peer support as well as family and friends, are invited to attend.
