A 20-year-old Cloonfad man was convicted and fined €300 for driving without due care and attention in Ballyhaunis District Court this week. Sean Ronane, Ballykilleen, Cloonfad, Ballyhaunis, pleaded guilty to the charge, through his solicitor in court. Garda David Donnelly told the court that he was on duty in the Garda car on August 2 2008 at 11.56pm at the square in Ballyhaunis. He saw Ronane drive up the street at high speed without stopping at a junction. He followed Ronane and pulled him over and spoke to Ronane, who apologised for his actions. Ronane who was not in court because of a job interview in Cork was convicted and fined €300.
