A fire ripped through a family home in Ballyvarry on bank holiday Monday morning leaving the house completely destroyed. No one was in the house when the blaze broke out at 8.15am.
In Barnatra, Belmullet, a couple were killed when their house went on fire on Sunday night. The remains of Stephen and Josie Carey, both in their late fifties, were discovered on Monday when a friend called to visit.
