Cyclists whizzing through Mayo

Ireland’s largest amateur five-day cycling event, the Kellogg’s Tour of Ireland Cycle Challenge, will see some 150 cyclists from all over Europe and the island of Ireland blaze through Mayo on Saturday May 9 as they undertake stage 3 of the challenge.

The cyclists will travel through Mayo as part of the challenge which begins in Lisburn, Co Down and finishes in Barretstown, Co Kildare. The gruelling five-day event will see the riders cover more than 950 kilometres in total to raise funds for Barretstown and the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children.

Jim McNeill, managing director, Kellogg’s Ireland said: “Local support and well-wishes are extremely important for keeping the riders feeling positive and motivated. We hope that the local community will also be inspired to get on their own bikes and discover the fun in getting active.”
