Well-known Robeen man Pat McGovern has won the prize for the best photograph taken at this year’s St Patrick’s Day parade in Ballinrobe.
His image of a child clearly mulling over the parade – the biggest and most successful ever held in the town – was selected by the judges as the top photo taken on the day. Pat, who is chairperson of the multi-decorated Ballinrobe Musical Society, is a keen photographer with an eye for an off-the-cuff shot. His prize, sponsored by the St Patrick’s Day Parade committee, was presented to him at the May sale in the town.
