Balla No Name Club remote lockdown challenge

Balla No Name club is undertaking an ambitious plan around mental and physical health promotion.

The volunteer and youth-led organisation in Balla is planning a 'remote lockdown physical activity' - in conjunction with the Ray D'Arcy Show on RTE Radio1.

As a long-standing supporter of the Laura Lynn charity, Ray D'Arcy recently launched a public campaign seeking 1,000 like minded people nationwide to join in a physical challenge and raise half a million Euros for Laura Lynn.

The Balla No Name Club is now registered for the event and will run, walk or jog 5 x 10km to raise funds for the Laura Lynn Ireland's Childrens' Hospice.

Participants in the Balla event will have the opportunity to choose their own schedule on how to achieve the challenge, which will entail completing 10x 5km, 25 x 2km or 5 x 10km over the next few weeks.

On St Patrick's Day, March 17, all participants will be invited to take part in a 5km or a 10k course which will start and finish at the famous Nally high cross at the square in Balla.

This event will have strict adherence to all social distancing measures and also to coronavirus guidelines, as set out by the HSE and Government.

More information on this remote lockdown physical activity by the Balla No Name club is available by contacting the club on (087 ) 2941227.

All funds raised from the challenge will go towards the care and support of children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
