As this weekend's All Ireland final and the busy Christmas period takes place, a worrying upward trend in new Covid-19 cases in the county has been flagged with 22 new cases confirmed in Mayo on Wednesday evening by the Department of Health.
The latest 14 day incidence report from the HSE also showed a total of 141 cases in Mayo from December 1 to December 15, an incidence rate of 108 per 100,000 population.
With Mayo playing in the All Ireland Senior Football Final tomorrow, Mayo GAA this week issued a call for people to keep themselves and their family safe from Covid. In a video posted on the county board's social media, team captain Aidan O'Shea appealed to supporters: "Please keep yourself and each other safe, by following current health guidelines so everyone can enjoy the game."
