The Moy Singers has a long-standing tradition of raising money for local charities to support the important services they provide. In November 2019, the choir launched a Christmas Charity Single, "Christmas Canon in D", in support of the Mayo Roscommon Hospice.
Owing to Covid-19 restrictions, members of Moy Singers management committee were thrilled to at last be able to visit the Mayo Roscommon Hospice Charity branch shop in Ballina recently to present a cheque for €1,200 to Damian Slater.
Speaking about how fundraising is key to the Moy Singers ethos, Chairperson Louise McDonnell said: "During these unprecedented times when running charity fundraisers is more difficult, we are delighted to be able to make this significant donation to the Hospice from the proceeds of our 2019 Christmas charity single.
"The Moy Singers is happy that we make a difference in our community. By raising desperately-needed funds for local charities we hope to be able to enrich the lives of many and we wish the very best to Mayo Roscommon Hospice."
