Would you like to know more about the new broadband connections points in Mayo?

The Mayo Public Participation Network (PPN ) is the main link through which Mayo County Council connects with the community, voluntary and environmental sectors in the Community.

They would like you to join the Mayo PPN virtual AGM plenary and information evening on Wednesday, December 9 at 7pm, which will also include an update on PPN activities, a report from the Covid Response Team, The PPN 2021 Workplan, PPN Draft Budget, Training Needs for Community Groups, the announcement of the 1000th member to register with the PPN and more.

The New Broadband Connection Points (or BCPs ) are public locations which have been selected to receive high-speed connectivity in the first year of the National Broadband Plan.

The locations of the BCPs have been selected by the Local Authority Broadband Officer and subsequently approved by the Department of Rural and Community Development.

These locations are public areas such as community halls, schools, libraries, GAA facilities, enterprise hubs, tourist locations and other public spaces.

Each BCP will provide 150Mb high speed, high quality broadband access to the local community. This will enable people living in the area to go to the selected location and access broadband for daily use including remote working, college course work and hot-desking.
