The great Castlebar student baker

In September Kenwood in association with the Association of Teachers of Home Economics (ATHE ) called on students to enter their best bakes in the Kenwood Young Baker competition.

In the senior competition Emily Madigan, St Joseph’s, Castlebar came third with her spiced sponge cake with added orange and ginger zest, paired with a maple flavoured buttercream.

The judges were chef Patrick Ryan, Susan Coleman (manager of De'Longhi Group Ireland and Sinead Keegan (president of ATHE )
