A number of councillors have requested a report as to when the new greenway bridge at Turlough will be completed.
Independent Cllr Michael Kilcoyne asked at the October meeting of the Castlebar Municipal District - "Will the bridge be open for Santa?" and Cathaoirleach of the district, Cllr Blackie Gavin, said he wanted a report on it for the next meeting. Senior Engineer for Mayo County Council, Anne Sweeney, told the members that she was waiting for a report to come back to her. Cllr Kilcoyne said that the councillors were given firm timelines in the past as to where the project would be but it hasn't been followed through.
