€89,977 in funding for four Mayo projects by the EMFF fisheries local action group

Deputy Michael Ring TD has received confirmation that the third tranche in 2020 of grant awards by the Fisheries Local Action Group established under Ireland’s European Maritime and Fisheries Fund Programme, has been allocated to four groups in Mayo. The grants are co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union.

Deputy Michael Ring stated: "I am pleased to note that a further four groups in Mayo will benefit from EMFF funding through the Fisheries Local Action Group established as part of the Department of Agriculture’s EMFF Programme supporting the development of Ireland’s seafood sector and coastal communities. This is very welcome funding during this difficult time for so many people.”

The following are the successful grant awardees: (1 ) Mayo North Destination Steering Group, €18,098.62 for Support for Mayo North Tourism promotion and development plan 2020 - 2023; (2 ) Cré - Clare Island Pottery Shop, €5,879.22; (3 ) Mayo County Council/Belmullet Tidy Towns, €50,000 and (4 ) Ceide Coast Community - for a feasibility study for Ceide Coast Incubation Hub, €16,000.
