Mayo Arts Service announces a new curatorial award and a film award

Mayo County Council Arts Service is delighted to announce the deadline for the following awards: Mayo Arts Service Creative Ireland Cultural Diversity Curatorial Award and the Film Mayo Creative Ireland Award. The deadline for these awards is Monday, November 16.

The Arts Service recognises the commitment of artists who continue working during a particularly challenging year. The rich contribution made by artists to the cultural life of the county is integral to the sustainability of culture regionally.

Mayo Arts Service Creative Ireland Cultural Diversity Curatorial Award: The successful curator will receive €15,000 which will afford the applicant the time to develop new work, to research and develop new ideas and to work with cultural and arts organisations and culturally diverse communities in Mayo. The award is supported by Ballina Arts Centre.

Film Mayo Creative Ireland Award in Partnership with Áras Inis Gluaire; The successful Mayo-born or based filmmaker will receive €8,000 which will benefit the recipient in their own practice. The award will allow the emerging filmmaker the time to develop new work, dedicate time to research, develop new ideas and to work with the local community.

These awards are an initiative of Mayo County Council in partnership with the Arts Council of Ireland with support from the Creative Ireland Programme in response to the Creative and Cultural Jobs Stimulus Measure Funding 2020. The closing date for applications is Monday, November 16 at 5pm.
