Enable Ireland is appealing to artists to donate art pieces inspired by our wild Atlantic coast for their upcoming charity sale.
The national charity is holding an online art sale in November, and is seeking donations from artists based along Ireland’s Atlantic way in the counties. Pieces created by artists based outside of this area (that are related to the Atlantic coast ) are also welcome.
Enable Ireland provides disability services to over 9,000 children and adults across Ireland. Their fundraising income has been severely impacted due to Covid-19, and the art sale will help to raise urgent funds to support their vital disability services.
Sean Scally, Enable Ireland Community Fundraiser, explained: "We hope that the event will promote and celebrate the natural beauty of Ireland’s west coast that has inspired so many artists, whilst also raising vital funds to support our services."
The art sale will take place online on Monday, November 16. In Mayo, Enable Ireland has provided community-based services to children and adults with physical disabilities and their families since 1992.
Their children’s centre in Castlebar is known as ‘The Safari Club’, and offers therapy and support services to children under six years within a partnership model. For children over six, they provide services from centre-based, community settings and in the schools.
They also provide social work, family support and assistive technology services to children living in Mayo. Adults with disabilities avail of community supports and assistive technology through Enable Ireland Mayo.
