Elaine Browne is a certified leadership and life Coach and a Mental health Peer Specialist.
Having worked in a local service, she left and set up Perspective to provide mental health peer support within the community. Mental Health peer support is an evaluated process where people with personal lived experience of mental health difficulties are trained to provide a space for other people to find recovery, hope and change in their lives.
At Perspective, children and adults can avail of peer support and peer coaching in a comfortable and confidential environment. Perspective has also moved to providing support and coaching in a safe online environment and this has opened up peer support and peer coaching to people nationally.
Through peer coaching, people enter into a healing space of self discovery and find new ways of living with purpose and meaning. The people who come to Perspective are varied, they may be struggling with different mental health issues and many others are simply feeling stuck and low in confidence. The one-to-one program for anxiety has been particularly successful for children and adults.
At the moment, Perspective has two trainee peer support workers and one family member support worker, all training through Dublin City University, this allows people to avail of low-cost peer support.
Perspective is also concerned with wellbeing for everyone and is very much invested in promoting that we all look after our mental health on a daily basis.
Tribe is a children's programme that caters for children ages 7-17 and its Inspire Her programme was launched nationally this summer. You can contact Perspective on (085 ) 7297451 or email [email protected]. Perspective is also on Facebook and Instagram.
