Ella & Jo Cosmetics is an award-winning cosmetics company established in 2017 owned and operated by Expert Skin Therapist and Business owner, Niamh Ryan, and well-known Irish make-up artist and influencer, Charlene Flanagan. The pair have have created a cosmetics business that has innovation and problem-solving at its core.
Speaking about the business, Niamh said: "My love for beauty, skincare and cosmetics started when I was 16 on my transition year work experience in a beauty salon in my home town in Ballina.
"I went on to do a BBS in DCU and a Masters in Marketing in DCU & The University of Illinois and then went back to do my Beauty qualifications while working for Unilever as a brand manager.
"My thesis was a study about green advertising, marketing and consumer behaviour. My specialist area is skin and I was one of the first Dermalogica Skin experts in Connacht and I am a skin expert with Image skincare and have recently completed a CIBTAC in Skin Science.
"Myself and my very supportive and long-suffering husband (the eyes glaze over now when I come home with a new idea ), have four young children 6, 5, 2 and 6 months, so life is fairly busy.
"My first business Bella Beauty is open nine years this September - I established a hair and beauty salon creating a dynamic and diverse team with a huge range of treatments and have worked with some of the world's best brands. The businesses have evolved and my newest venture is Ella & Jo Cosmetics - a skincare and cosmetics company set up with my business partner, Charlene Flanagan.
"All of my experience to date - being a brand manager for one of the world's best FMCG companies as well as my interest in skin and cosmetic science - have come together in Ella & Jo. One of my favourite parts of the business is consumer behaviour and why we do what we do."
