Mayo’s only 7 day a week and out-of-hours counselling service reopened their doors recently for face-to-face appointments and continues to provide appointments online and by phone.

Since they opened in 2012 the charitable organisation Helplink Mental Health has always been at the forefront of providing innovative and accessible counselling services for children, young people and adults. They were one of the first in the country to provide online counselling services and they were the first organisation to provide free counselling to people who lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, in March 2020 they launched the country’s first free national gambling addiction counselling service and they also provide a global counselling service for Irish citizens that are living abroad or returning home.

Helplink’s Garda vetted, qualified and insured Counsellors and Therapists provide evidenced based and solution focused therapies at times and days to suit the client. Helplink’s CEO Lochlann Scott says “we are all about getting people back up on their feet again from an emotional standpoint; our therapists’ role is to support you the client in developing the skills needed to be you own changemaker”.

Counselling Services Available: play therapy, art therapy, general (solution focused ) counselling, addiction counselling, bereavement counselling, couples counselling and employee (EAP ) counselling.

Appointments are available for children (ages 3+ ), young people and adults at low costs or for free (depending on service ).
