Mayo GAA this week announced a range of new and extended sponsorship agreements across both the county and club scene.
In relation to the inter-county scene in a statement Mayo GAA said: "Mayo GAA are delighted to announce that we have extended our sponsorship with Intersport Elverys as our title sponsor for a further five years to run until 2025.
"The deal will mean we will continue to see the Intersport Elverys brand on the front of the Mayo jersey across our Senior Footballers, Senior Hurlers and as our Minor teams.
"Mayo GAA is also delighted to announce Smyths Toys as our Academy sponsor. Smyths have been an integral part of our Academy team over the last number of years and they have now continued this arrangement by agreeing a three year deal to sponsor all of our Academy teams. Smyths Toys is one of Ireland’s best known brands with over 200 shops throughout Ireland & Europe
"Finally Mayo GAA can also announce a renewal of our existing sponsorship contract with O’Neills. This three year deal will see O’Neills continue to supply Mayo GAA with teamwear up until 2022. O’Neills is the largest manufacturer of sportswear in Ireland, with production plants located in Dublin and Strabane."
The new deals were ratified at this weeks Mayo GAA County Board meeting held in Elverys MacHale Park.
Speaking in relaiton to these deals Liam Moffatt, Cathaoirleach, Coiste Chontae Mhaigh Eo said: "Intersports Elverys have been sponsoring Mayo teams for over 20 years and I am delighted that they are going to continue to be working with Mayo GAA for the next five years. Intersport Elverys have been fantastic sponsors of our teams down through the years and I would like to place on record our gratitude to them for continuing to be our title sponsor.
"Intersport Elverys are prime example of how a local company can have a national and international presence. They have given employment to many Mayo people across the country through their vast shop and online presence and I look forward to continuing to work with them in the coming years.
"I also very much welcome the continuation of our association with Smyths Toys & O’Neills. Both are Irish owned companies who have been long-time supporters of Mayo GAA and I am delighted to be able to announce that Mayo GAA will continue to work with both of them in the coming years. "We began sponsoring Mayo in 1998 and now in 2020 we are continuing an unbroken sequence of 22 years as their title sponsor. Across our store network we can see the popularity of Mayo GAA continue to grow and we are delighted to be able to work with them over the next five years.”
On the club scene Mayo GAA confirmed that the Aurivo Co-Op group has renewed its sponsorship of the Mayo GAA Senior Club Championship under its Connacht Gold brand, and the Mayo GAA underage competitions under its Homeland retail stores brand. Aurivo is committed to getting behind Mayo GAA and supporting local clubs in the championship season in 2020.
In a statement from Mayo GAA they said: "Connacht Gold are now into their third year of sponsorship of the Senior club championship. The Mayo GAA Connacht Gold Senior Football championship throws in this weekend with eight games taking place on Saturday and Sunday. There will be two further rounds of group games in August before the knockout stages commence in September.
"Homeland Retail will continue to sponsor our underage football championships for 2020. These games got underway last Friday night with Minor games taking place across all four divisions.
"Egan Jewellers will once again be sponsoring our Intermediate club football championship. The Castlebar based business have been a huge supporter of Mayo GAA over the last number of years. The Intermediate football championship begins this Saturday August 1st as 16 teams set out with the hope of lifting the Sweeney Cup and promotion to the Senior grade.
"We can also confirm that The TF Royal Hotel and Theatre have come on board as the sponsors of our Junior football championship. The agreement covers the 2020 football championship season. Based in Castlebar The TF Royal Hotel and Theatre is one of Ireland’s leading concert and hotel venues. The new deals were ratified at Monday night’s meeting of Mayo GAA County Board held in Elverys MacHale Park."
Liam Moffatt, Cathaoirleach, Coiste Chontae Mhaigh Eo said: "We are delighted to confirm that Aurivo Co-op, Egan Jewellers and The TF Royal Hotel and Theatre will be sponsoring our club championships in 2020. All three companies have strong bases in Mayo and it is great to be able to work with these local companies during the upcoming club championships.
"The clubs are the lifeblood of the GAA and having these companies on board is a great endorsement to the vibrant nature of the Mayo club championships across our Senior, Intermediate & Junior grades. The games begin this weekend and I have no doubt over the next number of weeks will see many enthralling games taking place right across the County."
