Revamped Miss Mayo contest takes place this Summer

Have you got what it takes to be the next Miss Mayo?

The historic contest is getting a major revamp for 2020 and will be bigger, better and more fabulous than ever before. The Royal Theatre in Castlebar has come on board as the official sponsor of the event and will host the Grand Finale on August 28.

This year, the contest has been taken over by proud Mayo man and Ballinrobe native Alan Murphy and his business partner Denis Cronin from Cork. The duo will also host the event next month, which will include a star-studded lineup of judges. Alan is a popular radio presenter with Galway Bay FM as well as a best-selling author and Denis is an in-demand blogger, content creator and MC.

Alan is thrilled to be taking over the running of the event and said: "I’m the proudest of proud Mayo men so I’m beyond excited to be bringing a revamped and reenergised Miss Mayo contest to one of Ireland’s very best venues, the Royal Theatre. We’re so happy to have them on board. It’s going to be an amazing experience from start to finish for the girls that take part, so definitely sign up while you still can ladies."

Not only will the winner be crowned the new Miss Mayo and go on to represent the county at this year’s Miss Ireland contest but she’ll also receive a year-long modelling contract with Catwalk Modelling Agency and a whole host of other amazing prizes and ambassador opportunities.

Previous Miss Ireland winners include Andrea Roche, Holly Carpenter, Pamela Flood and, of course, Rosanna Davison who went on to win Miss World back in 2003.
