Michael Ring TD has been informed that steady progress is being made on the Westport Coast Guard Station.
Deputy Michael Ring stated: "I have been advised that the prequalification process for main contractor is to be advertised on eTenders from July 22. I am very pleased to see this project being moved in the right direction.
"As stated previously, this project will consist of the construction of a new Coast Guard Station to facilitate the Irish Coast Guard rescue services for local emergency services. The Irish Coast Guard carry out tremendous work.
"The issue of the new Coast Guard Station is something that I consistently raised over the past few years and I am glad that it is moving forward," concluded Deputy Ring.
