The organising committee of Fleadh Cheoil Mhaigh Eo 2020 and the Mayo County Board wish to advise that due to the current COVID-19 situation, the decision has been taken to defer the Fleadh Cheoil to a later date, should circumstances allow.
The Fleadh was due to take place in Achill on from Friday, May 8 to Sunday, May 10. Chairperson of the organising committee, Tommy English said “we are extremely disappointed that the Fleadh will now not go ahead as planned in May. I would like to pay tribute to the hard working committee for their work to date and the local community who have rowed in behind us in recent months. It is much appreciated. The decision was taken in the best interest of public health and safety”.
The committee and the county board will keep branches and competitors informed of any updates.
