Mayo/Galway independent music champions, Umbrella Records, are coming to Castlebar on April 3 and are presenting some really exciting and interesting talent in the form of new-wave synth rockers - Bury Me With My Money, punk/folk performer Myles Manley and his band along with Ray Brown, who is visiting from New York city and is including the Mayo show in his national tour.
Tomás Concannon of Umbrella Records and BMWMM explained: - "We have been waiting for the right time to host an event in Castlebar and we really hope that music fans from Castlebar and the greater area will show their support for our new venture. If you are someone like myself, who feels their taste in music isn't being catered for locally, then do consider joining us on April 3. We appreciate that you may not know the music of the artists on the bill, however if you enjoy bands like Talking Heads, Radiohead, Beck, LCD soundsystem and our own local heros Fontains D.C.; if you regularly watch shows like KEXP and Tiny Desk; if you're considering going to festivals like 'All together Now' or 'Body & Soul' - then we are your people, we want to meet you and we want you to join us in starting a modern musical movement in Mayo."
Garbos Live music venue which is part of the Mayo Movie World complex in Castlebar has been rolling out some brilliant live shows over the past year and has teamed up with Umbrella Records to bring more alternative Irish music to Mayo. Doors are at 9pm on April 3 and early bird tickets are currently available from Garbos venue or through Ticketweb.ie
