Mindspace Mayo have expressed their thanks Mr Tim O’Leary and the Mayo GAA International Supporters Foundation for their generous and much-appreciated donation of €35,000 which was received last Thursday and will go towards our youth mental health support service.
Mindspace, which is based in Castlebar — and has outreach services in Erris and Ballina — assists young people from all across Mayo to meet the demands of modern life.
They offer mental health and wellbeing support services to young people in the county aged from 15 to 25, and recently celebrated five years in existence.
Mindspace’s support services cater for young people who are struggling to deal with common concerns like relationships, exam stress, sexuality and bullying, as well as those with emerging mental health difficulties such as mild depression and anxiety.
"We were delighted to be contacted by the Mayo GAA International Supporters Foundation, and the kind support and willingness of Mr O’Leary and the Foundation donors to help our service in this special way is very much appreciated," said Mindspace Mayo manager, Peadar Gardiner.
"This donation will help to ensure that when a young person comes to us for help we are here to provide them with our free, confidential and non-judgemental support to get them through the difficulties they face in their lives."
