Bringing together one of the world’s great classic plays with one of Ireland’s greatest writers, Druid will present Tom Murphy’s version of Chekhov’s masterpiece The Cherry Orchard at Black Box Theatre, Galway and Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Dublin and it will be screened at Mayo Movie World on Thursday, March 5 at 7pm.
The Cherry Orchard is a play about land, legacy, and the struggle between tradition and change and this will be the first major production of Tom Murphy’s work since his death in 2018. Directed by Tony Award winner Garry Hynes, with the acclaimed creative team behind DruidShakespeare, this production will feature a large company of actors.
