Castlebar Musical and Dramatic Society is delighted to present the all-time family favourite musical ‘Annie’ from March 5 – 7 at 8pm nightly in St Mary’s Hall, GMIT, Castlebar, with an additional matinee performance on March 7 at 2.30pm. Tiered seating is an exciting new addition to St Mary’s Hall, GMIT this year. ‘Annie’ is a Tony-award winning stage musical, which boasts a number of well-known and much-loved musical numbers, e.g. ‘Tomorrow’, ‘It’s The Hard Knock Life’, ‘Easy Street’, ‘You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile’. ‘Annie’ is probably best known from its hugely successful screen adaptation in 1982 and more recently in 2014.
Castlebar Musical and Dramatic Society is delighted to welcome many new faces to the stage this year, of all ages, and from all across the county. The cast of over 50 local child and adult performers, some of whom are no strangers to the stage and some of whom are treading the boards for the very first time, have all been rehearsing tirelessly since last October under the expert guidance of the extremely talented local production team of Donna Ruane, Director, Deirdre Lee, Musical Director and Eleanoir Cazabon-Regan, Choreographer.
‘Annie’ will be Castlebar Musical and Dramatic Society’s fifth musical production, following on from previous productions of ‘Oklahoma’ (AIMS Award Winner for ‘Best Actress-Donna Ruane ), ‘Fiddler On The Roof’, ‘South Pacific’ and ‘White Christmas’.
‘Annie’ promises to have audiences enthralled with its lighthearted comedy, quirky characters and heart-rending storyline. Tickets for ‘’Annie’ are priced at €20 for adults and €15 for children (aged 16 and under ). Family tickets are also available at the discounted price of €60. Discounted tickets are also available for Thursday night’s performance of ‘Annie’ (€17 for adults and €14 for children ).
