Fine Gael Senator Michelle Mulherin has welcomed €13,743.23 in LEADER funding for Ballina Fringe Festival.
Senator Mulherin said: "The funding is for the purchase of audio and sound equipment, and for marketing and printing, for the Ballina Fringe Festival 2019, which is the only arts festival in North Mayo. The total cost of the project is €18,324.31.
"Ballina Fringe Festival has a vision to develop and deliver a multidisciplinary arts festival showcasing high quality arts inspired by or connected to the landscape and heritage of North Mayo and the Wild Atlantic Way.
“It attracts regional, national and international visitors to Ballina and its hinterland, supporting the extension of the local season and fostering collaboration between the arts and tourism sectors locally.
“I am delighted to secure this funding for Ballina from my colleague Michael Ring, Minister for Rural and Community Development. The funding for this very important Ballina festival is supporting jobs and investment in Ballina," added Senator Mulherin.
