Fine Gael Councillor Jarlath Munnelly has welcomed progress on the construction of a new town park in Killala. The Fine Gael councillor, who has been lobbying for improved facilities in the north Mayo town throughout his council term, said that construction was ongoing, and that the children’s playground would be completed very soon.
“Construction work is at an advanced stage. The council have drained the green areas, and constructed bases for the paths around the park. The bases for the public lighting have been installed, and the bases are in for the playground and ball courts. I expect that the playground will be finished within the coming month, and by early summer, the park will be open for business.”
