Counselling and psychotherapy
Allison Joyner is an accredited counsellor and psychotherapist based in Claremorris, Co Mayo. She offers professional help to people to address difficult issues in their lives which may be working against their sense of well-being and confidence. Usually people are experiencing some form of inner turmoil and this can present itself as low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, unhappy relationships, etc. Therapy can assist people in making sense of their experiences and finding new strength within themselves.
She is also a lecturer in the Dublin Business School of Arts and runs courses for both corporate and community groups in areas such as stress management, personal development, and inner awareness.
Her philosophy is that it is never too late for things to change. All sessions are confidential and take place in an atmosphere of acceptance and non-judgment.

Holistic therapies
Marian Clarke started her journey in holistic therapies eight years ago. Her training as a therapeutic massage therapist led her to train as a reflexologist. She opened her clinic in Holistic Living four years ago and as it has gone from strength to strength she has done numerous courses in alternative therapies - aromatherapy massage, Indian head massage, Hopi ear candling, and reiki master.
Having previously trained and worked with Max Factor and Procter & Gamble as a beauty consultant for 18 years she pursued her studies in beauty therapy with Georgina Price Beauty Therapy and now specialises in Ayurveda facials. Since moving to Claremorris Marian has noticed a big increase in demand for reflexology and holistic massage. It reduces stress, relieves aches and pains, improves circulation, and improves detoxification in the body. She is a member of the Irish Massage Therapy Association and the Irish Reflexologists’ Association which are both covered by VHI, Quinn Health Care, and VIVAS. This is very important as 12 treatments a year can be claimed back.
