Joe Fury and The Hayride are based in the mid-west region of Ireland, on the Galway-Mayo border. The Hayride are a high energy live performance band who play a combination of styles that range from rockabilly, swamp, blues, bluegrass and vintage country. Joe Fury, originally from the south of England, was born to Irish parents and moved to the west of Ireland in 2002.
He was no stranger to the stage performing in front of live audiences since the age of seven , with appearances on international TV, open air festivals, theatre and even circus. Since his move to Ireland he has dedicated his time to creating The Hayride, pulling together a collaboration of Ireland's finest musicians; Waterford’s legendary guitarist Eddie Walsh, ex member and songwriter of the Saw Doctors, Pearse Doherty on the big bass fiddle, New Zealand's Geoffrey Ward playing mandolin and sax, from the USA, the masterful Micheal Chang on fiddle, and highly regarded percussionist Jimmy Higgins on drums.
