Mayo Retailers Receive Top Honours at the 2019 Londis Retailing Awards

Hiney’s Londis Crossmolina was named Customer Service Store of the Year at the Londis Retailing Excellence Awards 2019 recently.

Londis retailers from all over Ireland attended at the Europe Hotel & Resort in Co Kerry recently for the Awards ceremony. The Londis Retailing Awards, which have been running for more than 20 years, recognise stores that excel across all areas of store performance.

The following Mayo stores were also honoured with Londis Retailing Excellence Awards: (1 ) Casey’s Londis Ballina, (2 ) Casey’s Londis Castlebar, (3 ) Cunningham’s Londis Ballyhaunis, (4 ) Hiney’s Londis Crossmolina and (5 ) Mulroy’s Londis Moneen Roundabout, Castlebar. Mulroy’s Londis, Breaffy Road, Castlebar was also honoured with a Londis Retailing Standard Award on the night.

Congratulating retailers, Conor Hayes, Sales Director, Londis, said: “In the past year, a huge improvement has been made in the standards across the Londis retail estate. The winners of this year’s awards are among the top retailers in the country. This award is recognition of the commitment and ambition demonstrated by these retailers to keep providing the highest level of service to their customers. Their focus on continually exceeding customer expectations is a testament to the hard work of their staff, for which they should be very proud. I commend them all on this wonderful achievement.”

Accepting their Londis Excellence Award and Londis Customer Service Store of the Year Award, Enda and Carmel Hiney of Hiney’s Londis Crossmolina, said: “We are thrilled to receive this prestigious award which is testament to the extremely hard-working team that we have in store. This accolade is not only a mark of pride for our store and staff, but importantly it shows our customers’ that we are passionate about delivering a top quality service. This is a very important point of differentiation in what is a very competitive marketplace and we’re honoured to have received this award.”

All stores were independently examined across a range of criteria including customer service, the quality of their fresh food offering, product range, and the store’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of hygiene and food safety. This year’s awards were held as part of the Londis Conference 2019 entitled ‘Destination 22’. The Conference was chaired by sports journalist Evanne ni Chuillinn and featured special guest speakers Liam Sheedy, All-Ireland winning manager with Tipperary, Ireland rugby legend Brian O’Driscoll and former All-Ireland winning camogie captain and coach on Ireland’s Fittest Family Anna Geary.
