Ring announces further CLÁR funding of €82,300 for first responder organisations

Michael Ring T.D., the Minister for Rural and Community Development, has announced funding of €82,300 for two first responder organisations in Mayo under the First Response Support Measure of CLÁR (Measure 3A ).

Minister Ring has allocated funding to the following first responder groups in Mayo: €50,000 for Irish Community Rapid Response for the purchase of a new vehicle and €32,300 for Grainne Uaile Sub Aqua Club, Ballina, for the purchase of a 4x4 vehicle.

Minister Ring said: "I’m delighted to support these community based organisations in the vital work they do to keep members of our community safe and well. Quite simply, these groups need to have proper equipment and training in order to ensure they can perform their important, life saving work.

"This Government supports and invests in community groups in Mayo and throughout the country because we recognise the invaluable contribution they make to our society. No one epitomises this contribution more than the voluntary first responder groups that I am announcing support for today.

"Since I re-introduced the CLÁR Programme in 2016, it has provided funding to over 1,200 projects throughout the country under various measures."
