Work on the Mayo Abbey sewerage scheme will commence later this year, a meeting of the Ballinrobe electoral area committee were told this week.
The proposed development was advertised in accordance with legislation and four submissions were received. Mr Brian O’Reilly, Senior Engineer in the water services section of Mayo County Council has recommended that the council proceed with the proposed development.
Fine Gael Councillor Patsy O’Brien said he was delighted for Mayo Abbey where he said there is “tremendous community spirit”.
