Did you ever want to complete the Bangor Trail? Then this month's guided crossing of the trail organised by Nephin Beggers on Saturday, June 15, could be just the opportunity for you.
The day will start at 9am from Brannan's Bar in Newport, registration will get under way at 8am. A bus will leave from Brannan's for Bangor at 9am. The Nephin Beggers will handle stewarding along the way and there will be two stop-off points along the trek with one stop at Leterkeen seeing the walkers provided with traditional boxty, tea and coffee. Also at Leterkeen there will be a drop-off point where you can change gear for the last seven miles of the trail, which is mostly over road.
The trek will finish at the starting point, where Irish stew will be served along with a certificate of completion. The cost of the full day is €50, for booking call John on (087 ) 6391777 - booking must be done in advance.
