Country Game Fair and Country Lifestyle Festival promises a great weekend

The Country Game Fair and Country Lifestyle Festival in Galway Racecourse, Ballybrit, is set to be a jam packed event with amazing family entertainment alongside Irish country sports and traditions.

Relax in the main arena’s non-stop entertainment, or take in the bustling tented village’s top products and delicious fine food. Thrill to the clash of battling medieval Knights jousting at the gallop, and enjoy some time travel in a Living History Village with costumed re-enactors, a muzzle loading display team and bygone rabbit catching with the Norfolk Warrener.

There’s some amazing dancing horses and western riding and world class fly casting while hot shots can aim for the Galway Game Fair’s clay shooting competitions - an amazing four guns to be won!

For dog enthusiasts there’s the Red Mills spaniel and retriever tests, gundog demos and the Feedwell terrier, urcher, whippet and children’s dog show.

There’s sporting art, country crafts and taxidermy, fishing, and sporting books from Coch-y-Bonddu.

And with the outstanding Galway Home and Garden Festival also on site, there’s everything for your home and garden. Taste and try in The Fine Food and Craft Festival which has Flogas Cookery Demonstrations by Emmett McCourt.

Need advice on shooting or fishing? Then head for the experts in the Salmon and Woodcock Pavilion. Kids can get casting tuition and there’s lots of ‘have a go‘ activities including air rifle shooting, laser clay shooting plus a children’s games area.

The fair has something for everyone with a huge array of guns, tackle and country clothing - not to mention some very special bargains on offer.

Admission is €15 for adults, family tickets for two adults and up to four children cost €35. Free car parking on site and all visitors get a half-price voucher for admission to the Northern Game Fair at Shanes Castle on June 29 to 30.
