Property prices in Mayo have risen by €5,000 in the last year, according to the latest MyHome.ie Property Report, in association with Davy.
The report for quarter one, 2019, shows that the median asking price for a property in the county, now stands at €155,000. While this was unchanged from the previous quarter, it is a 3.3 per cent increase on this time last year.
The rise in prices was reflected in the asking price for a three-bed semi-detached house in the county, which was up 3.6 per cent in the quarter from €140,000 to €145,000. This contributed to an annual increase of 11.5 per cent, with prices now €15,000 up on this time last year when they stood at €130,000.
Prices for this house type are now at their highest level since they stood at €149,000 in quarter two 2012.
The asking price for a four-bed semi-detached house in Mayo was up 2.5 per cent in the quarter from €150,000 to €153,750. This contributed to an annual increase of 10.2 per cent, with prices now €14,250 ahead of where they were 12 months ago at €139,500. The number of properties for sale in Mayo on MyHome.ie was down 6.4 per cent in the last quarter and by 3.7 per cent on this time last year.
