Well-known antique auctioneers Matthews of Oldcastle conduct a one-day clearance of the contents of our lady queen of peace convent & nursing home next Wednesday, March 6 from 11.30am.
Recently sold, the property is due for major refurbishment by Orwell Private - a Dublin-based healthcare company. Over 1,000 lots are to be cleared over the two days, amongst them antiques, garden statuary, medical items, etc.
The auction will also include the contents of a fine nearby residence on Temple Road, also recently sold. The contents of this property were removed to the convent for sale. With estimates ranging from €20 to €1,500, and many to be sold without reserve, "it's a tremendous opportunity for those collecting on a budget, landlords and nursing home owners, definitely a sale worth attending", said the auctioneer Damien Matthews.
The auction, to be held in the convent, is just off Garville Avenue, Rathgar, Dublin 6 and will be well sign-posted on the viewing days. Public viewing takes place on the premises from 11am to 5pm from Saturday, March 2 to Monday, March 4 and from 10am on Tuesday, March 5 and Wednesday, March 6.
