St Colman's Credit Union to lose their voice for charity

The staff at St. Colman’s Credit Union in both Claremorris and Ballinrobe are losing their voice #Voice4MND in order to raise funds as part of Mairead Coleman’s fundraising campaign in aid of the Irish Motor Neuron Association.

Sinead Stagg, operational manager in St Colman's said: "Mairead is such an inspiration, her story is heartfelt by everyone. We don’t want Mairead and other sufferers to suffer in silence so please support our campaign in losing our voice so that others can be heard. We will be collecting funds all week in both offices or you can donate online by donating directly to Mairead’s facebook page.

"In the world we live in being able to work differently for half an hour is going to be a challenge for the staff at St. Colman’s Credit Union but that is exactly what this campaign is about.

“It’s about us understanding the daily challenges that people with MND like Mairead go through and we only have to do it for half an hour.

"This is about raising awareness so that we can experience and you the members of our Credit Union can experience what it is like for someone like Mairead with MND. We are undertaking this silence for a half an hour for three days on Wednesday February 13, Thursday, February 14 and Friday, February 15  February 11.30am to 12 noon."

Valentine’s Day falls this week – imagine not being able to say `I love you’ unfortunately, that is the fate met by most people living with MND.
