SFA welcomes funding to support small business develop ecommerce platforms

The SFA welcomes the announcement to support a further 3000 small/micro businesses with funding and training to develop their online capabilities in 2019 under the Trading Online Voucher Scheme, announced by the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and the Environment, Richard Bruton T.D. and Minister of State for Natural Resources, Community Affairs and Digital Development Sean Canney T.D.

Sven Spollen-Behrens of the Small Firms Association said: “This scheme will support small businesses to develop ecommerce platforms, upgrade their software, develop apps or implement a digital marketing strategy, all of which will allow small business owners to expand their operations and grow their business. In addition, small businesses will be able to access training and develop skills on how to establish and manage online trading activity.

“The importance of the online marketplace for small businesses cannot be overestimated. With enough support and investment by Government small businesses can get their foot on the digital ladder and adapt their businesses to deal with the technological changes which are happening”, Spollen-Behrens concluded.
