Come on up for the rising this Easter at Finbar Hoban PresentsCome on up for the rising this Easter

The Easter Rising Show on Saturday April 11 at Bar Ritz on April 11 promises to bring the best live entertainment to Castlebar over the bank holiday weekend as Finbar Hoban Presents… Dirty Epics along with support from Ballyhaunis group The Zen Yetis and local Castlebar group Alien Orphan.

If you like uncomplicated punk, then try Wicklow natives Dirty Epics on for size. Having garnered rave live reviews their much-awaited debut does exactly what it says on the tin… think The Subways partying with The Kills — raunchy rebellion guaranteed to end in errant hook-ups and questionable bruising.

Dirty Epics have already generated enough column inches to stretch to the moon and back, largely thanks to striking front-woman Sarah Jane Wai O’Flynn, whose stunning classic pop vocal mixes potently with elfin looks and a killer dress to put her ahead of the pack! She’s made Dirty Epics a band as at home playing on a catwalk as they are on a scuzzy club stage.

They have a unique punky rock pop-tastic sound which stems from a mass of diverse influences, such as Bob Dylan, Iggy and The Stooges, Kings of Leon, The Pixies, and Blondie. They released their much-anticipated album Straight In No Kissing in October 2008 on their own label Scar Records, it was distributed by Universal Music to great reviews across the board. Dirty Epics’ rock n roll brevity is so unnervingly invigoratingly direct, you can’t help but nod and tap your foot furiously from the first second to the last.

Their thrilling performances have seen them gig at The New bands stage Oxygen, Castlepooloza, and Hennessy Artistry, and with Republic Of Loose in The Academy and a recent appearance on The Podge & Rodge Show on RTE television. So be sure to check out Ireland’s up and coming band Dirty Epics on Easter Saturday night live at Bar Ritz. The Zen Yetis will also be performing on the night; veterans at this stage to Bar Ritz as the band have played here before and were so good that they have been invited back once more. The band, based around Claremorris and Castlebar area, are always a thrill to watch as their influences range from Joy Division to Kings of Leon.

Alien Orphan from Castlebar are a five piece consisting of vocals, rhythm, and lead guitars, and play rock and early nineties grunge music.

If you are looking for live entertainment this Easter why not check out Castlebar’s only alternative event, bringing the best bands from around the country right to your front door. Coming soon to Bar Ritz (Castlebar ) Finbar Hoban Presents… Story Of Hai.
