Claremorris Historical Society has invited the community to the launch of the second edition of its annual journal, Clann Mhuiris in Claremorris Library, this evening, Friday November 16.
Featuring articles by local authors on various aspects of the history of Claremorris and surrounding areas, this year’s edition is again lavishly illustrated, featuring many historic photographs, some of which have featured in recent years on the popular Main Street Gathering Facebook page.
Doors will open at 7.30pm and the official launch will be performed by Claremorris native, Michael Ronayne, formerly a journalist with The Western People, former economics correspondent of RTÉ and now a Dublin-based barrister.
Retailing at only €10 it will make a wonderful Christmas gift for relatives and friends, at home and abroad. Following the official launch, it will go on sale in newsagents and other outlets in the town. Refreshments will be served and all are welcome.
