Charlestown Historical Society
The next lecture of the Charlestown historical society takes place at the Yeats country Hotel in Curry on Thursday November 15 at 7.30pm. The lecture will be given by Mr Fintan Masterson, who will speak on the history and folklore of the birds of Connacht. Masterson graduated in 2009 from GMIT Mayo with a BA (hons ) degree in Heritage Studies. He is also the 2009 recipient of the Dolores Horkan award for Heritage Studies . He grew up in Tonragee, Achill. He currently lives in Mulranny and works as a seasonal guide in Wild Nephin, Ballycroy National Park. Admission to the lecture will be €10.
Charlestown Knitting Circle
A knitting circle takes place every Thursday at the Charlestown Library between 11am to 1pm. All are welcome
Ballyhaunis Active Retirement
Ballyhaunis Active Retirement group meets every Wednesday at 3pm in Communal House, Clare Court, Ballyhaunis - new and existing members welcome.
Cill Aodain Choral Society
The Cill Aodain Choral Society has returned to practice and rehearsals are held every Tuesday evening in Kiltimagh Community Centre for men at 8.30pm and women at 9pm. If you enjoy singing and meeting new people and would like to give it a go, contact Monica on (086 ) 3933800.
Swinford Active Retirement
The Swinford Active Retirement group has resumed meetings which take place on Mondays in the Gateway Hotel from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Old and new members are welcome.

Knock Christmas Markets
The organisers of the Knock Christmas Market are taking bookings for table space for the market. Table space on the ground floor costs €35 and €25 for the lower level. The market will take place on Sunday December 9 from 11am to 4pm. For bookings and more information call (086 ) 8486924.
Holistic and Spiritual Fair
A holistic and spiritual fair will take place in Swinford Cultural Centre on Sunday November 4 from 10am to 5pm. On the day there will be reflexology, reiki, acupuncture, bio-energy and card reading. Gardening club trip
Swinford and District Gardening Club are planning a trip to Athlone on Saturday November 10. The trip will include a visit to Derryglad Folk and Heritage museum, Fern Hill Garden Centre and Golden Island shopping centre.
